Pistol, also known as P. Gates, King P, is a highly revered Gangsta-Rapper in Middle Tennessee's rap community. Once signed to the infamous Ruthless Records, home of Eazy E-, Bone Thugs-N-Harmony,etc... Pistol was the first Nashville rapper to make it big on a local & national scale.

It has been said that Pistol was the first major Tennessee artist and set the precedent for Tennessee albums. You can hear in this earlier track of his an early 90's westcoast/midwest undertone which ends with a strong southern climax. -> Pistol, Boogie - Kickin' Shit With King

^^ I'm catchin' up to him myslef, I've only known about him for about 2 months. I've only heard Money & Power, Vol. 6, Ballaholic & Fed Material and a few compilations.

I'd go with Fed Material, his most recent release. It features Haystak and some other Nashville boys.

If anybody is interested and needs a further push, contact me by pm and I'll send a few album zshare links, on the strentgh that if you like then you buy.

:) Oh shit.

I'm assuming the latter was sampled by Pistol. Pistol song concepts and beats are very extraordinary. I plan to sample him more than once, for this upcoming group I'll work with. Does anyone have the linear notes/credits for this Mistah X album???

Yeah, you got a point, I wasn't thinkin' about it from that angle. b/c of his past beats I figured it was his own.

Now to find out what song is being sampled.........

Maybe a west coast artist or a Roger Troutman type singer......

I'll see if I can get him to post those videos; hopefully, he'll pull them out the vaults, like the pictures he's been posting.
