www.hiphopdx.com a écrit:Rapper Shyne is expected to be released from prison today, as initially reported on HipHopDX this August. The 30 year-old rapper a/k/a Jamal Barrow was sentenced to 10 years in June of 2001 for charges stemming from a high-publicized 1999 shooting incident involving Diddy and Jennifer Lopez. During his eight-plus year sentence, the Brooklyn emcee was incarcerated at Riker’s Island, Woodbourne and Clinton Correctional Facility.
Lord Fatine a écrit:Shyne doit certainement son émergence dans le rap game à la similitude de sa voix avec celle du regretté Christopher Wallace AKA Notorious BIG.
www.hiphopdx.com a écrit:A several-years old album has surfaced with Guerilla Black under the guise of Big Cizzle with an album titled Black’s Ya Neva Seen It Com’n for which the rapper offers a distinctly different style. A style which sounds more like DMX and Mystikal than Biggie. The CD is being released by Bungalo Records and the manufacturer claims the album was created in 2001. Some of the songs on the album include “Werk Dem Hips,” “2 Wear'n No Draws,” and “Tongue Rings” which sounds very different than his album Guerilla City.
MTV a écrit:Shyne is still in custody due to his immigration status…
But his release is now under review, as representatives for the rapper revealed to MTV News that the Brooklyn MC is being detained by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement at an unspecified facility in Western New York State. Officials are determining whether or not to deport the rapper, who was born in Belize, a rep explained.
“Shyne is currently in federal custody while his future immigration status is determined,” the rep said in a message to MTV News. Shyne attorney Oscar Michelen emphasized to MTV News on Tuesday afternoon that Shyne has not been released, contrary to media reports.
Shyne speaks on the shooting incident and his experiences during his 9 year sentence; makes reference to his co-defendant Sean Combs; and talks about A Rod and Rihanna visiting him.
Miss Info a écrit:Multiple sources have confirmed to me that Shyne Po has signed a 7-figure deal with Def Jam.
This ends a bidding war that had industry bigwigs vying for Shyne’s attention, flying to Belize, calling and courting, ever since the Brooklyn emcee was released from prison and deported to Belize back in October.
For Shyne to turn down hard-court pressure from Jimmy Iovine/Dr.Dre and others and instead join LA Reid back at his last known recording-residence actually seems like an inevitable move….because I’ve been hearing that Shyne has been pow-wowing with veteran manager Kyambo “HipHop” Joshua for a while now. Joshua and his HipHopSince1978 partners, Gee Roberson, also manage Lil Wayne, Drake, Young Jeezy and more. Meanwhile, my old friend Al Branch is both a partner in HipHopSince1978 and a high-level exec at Def Jam…see how that works? Synergy! Now there have been recent reports of new label-wide pressures, but with this team in place, Shyne is in good hands.
