In the old Forum we had a thread about German rap and i just wanted to revive this. So, here's a little info about some crews doing underground "Gangsta" Rap in Germany.
As you will notice, we don't have that strong G-Funk influence in our music. It's more influenced by Down South Rap, especially Memphis style...

I will try to add more groups when I have time...

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
DeineLtan
Berlin/Wedding 65

Image

This is a crew of four people from Berlin. They rap very fast, do a wicked tongue-twist type of style and are heavily influenced by southern rap like three six mafia, guerilla maab, tommy wright III and so on...

This is the recent album. In my opinion it's the best German album of this year so far...

Image

Check out two tracks and the snippet from their latest album:
DeineLtan - Clubzerstörer
DeineLtan - Die Strassen Brennen
DeineLtan - Snippet for "Kopschuss" Album

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
MC Bogy
Berlin/Lankwitz 46

www.mcbogy.de

Image

This dude is probably the German Haystak, I would say. His raps are strictly about hustlin' and street shit and he talks a lot about the bad sides of gangbangin' and drug abuse.
He's definitely one of the realest cats out here because he lived through everything that he raps about.

some of his videos:
MC Bogy feat. B-Lash - Leben Im Regen
MC Bogy feat. Smoky & Problemkind - Bling Bling Song

and a track:
MC Bogy - Willkommen In Abschaum City

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Shok Muzik
Berlin/Wedding 65

www.shokmuzik.com

These guys come with what you'd probably call "racaille" style in France. It's mostly turkish and arab rappers. Their topics are straight gangstarism and the whole label is managed very professionally. They have only existed for two years but have had quite a success.
Personally, i don't like them that much. They are too "managed" and too profesisonal/mainstream for my taste.

some videos:

Shok Muzik - Gangster Rap
Shok Muzik - Was Los
Crackavelli & D-Irie - Nur Die Starken

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

41Beatfanatika
Berlin/Steglitz 41

www.41beatfanatika.de

ImageImage

This is a very big clique of rappers from the Southside of Berlin. Their beats are heavily influenced by Down South stuff while the lyrics range from gangbangin' or just battle rap to storytelling and true-life struggle...

Check out their site. They have a couple of videos and Downloads.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

BTM Squad
Düsseldorf

www.btm-squad.net

Image

Crew of four rappers from Düsseldorf. I guess the vicinity of Belgium and France have influenced them heavily.
They do Gangsta Rap but with a religious touch to it...
I like em a lot cause they do their own thing and do not try to jump on the bandwaggon of Berlin rap which is leading the game currently.

Videos:

BTM Squad - In Der Hood

BTM Squad - Nimm Dir An Uns Kein Besipiel

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

some more videos:

Massiv - Ghetto Lied

Massiv - Hier Kommt Massiv

Da Fource - Komm Auf Den Punkt

Charnell - Ihr Wollt's Nicht

030 Gangxta Clique - Willkommen In Berlin City

Azad - Mein Block

Azad - Phoenix

Rapkilla Records - Nie Ein Gangster

Agent I - Blut Auf Beton

Vork - Partyzerfikkker

Kaisa & Hassmonstas - Kinder An Die Macht

Aggro Berlin - Nach Eigenen Regeln

Frauenarzt - Hunnies Im Club

Bushido - Bei Nacht

Jeyz - Wir Als Kanaken Hier

there really isn't anyone doing "g-funk" influenced music in germany. :(

like i discussed with kicket on the 187radio: i guess we're just a northern people and don't know too much about palm trees :D

if you want german rap over g-funk beats, you should check out our next mixtape AREA CODES DEUTSCH

it's exclusive raps from german artists over westcoast and south beats from the US

^^^ wesh Pipo!

thanks for the hook up,but i'm not really found of "recycled" beats at all...even if it's not just freestyles like in usual mixtapes...Sweden is a more northern country than yours, but there was a g-funk influenced scene over there (Infinite Mass,Ro-Cee...)...g-funk is worldwide,& i don't think it's neccessary linked to the sun,Cali life style...i mean,g-funk ,musically speaking (heavy bass, moog, guitars, singin' hooks & chorus...),can be served by a lot of type of differents rap on it( lyrics & style)...

anyway,i've liked the track from Dj Tommek released a few years ago,"ganxtaville",which sounded g-funk to the fullest, with the features of Kurupt!nice vidéo also....it should have been the exception! :(

yeah, you're talking about this one i guess:

i thought that song was garbage cause DJ Tommek is the one person who is so far away from being "gangsta" that it's not even funny any more. he's just a sucker who'd do anything that's popular at the moment. a couple of years before he did something with GZA and even LL cool J i think...

well, but as far as the g-funk sound goes: i guess you're right, the sound is universal. and for a while (like around the time when "the chronic" and so on hit) it was really popular around here. but that changed... i'm not really sure why, but for the longest time, germany was strictly on that "true school" new york hip hop... and when gangsta rap became more popular again it was more through memphis artists... maybe it's just because a certain circle of people were listening to it at the time and kind of influenced a lot of other rappers and so on...

some more groups:

B-Lash
Berlin / Kreuzberg 36

www.b-lash.de

This Iranian rapper from Berlin-Kreuzberg is a big fan of Westcoast rap himself and has released a mixtape (WCB.FM) where he raps strictly over old school westcoast instrumentals. His raps are really outgoing and funny. It's mostly battle rap from a street perspective... He definitely is not into the blingbling image and always talks down on german artists biting crunk music :D

B-Lash - Schiess

B-Lash - Willkommen

B-Lash - Murderer

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Deso Dogg
Berlin / Kreuzberg 36

www.desodogg.de

Deso Dogg is a Berlin OG with gang affiliations from the 1980s/early 90s. That was the time when "Colors" the movie hit Berlin and everybody was running around trying to be Bloods and Crips. Every corner had their own little gang with names like "36 Boyz", "All Stars", "Southside Riders" or "Arab Boys". These times are over but Deso still represents this state of mind. His lyrics are all about Gangsta Shit and his mixtape "Murder Cocktail" is strictly Westcoast Instrumentals...

Deso Dogg - Am Abzug

Deso Dogg - Ganxtaboogy

Deso Dogg - Ich Startete Den Gangsta Shit

Deso Dogg - Colors

I tried to select some more good tracks for you to listen to. Some are Down South style but others are more "G-Sound" or whatever you wanna call it...

MC Bogy - Gangsta Bitch

DeineLtan - Kopfschuss

DeineLtan - Ellenbogen Raus

Goodfellas - Was Suchst Du Hier

You wouldn't say "little gang" if you've been around here at that time my man

"36 Boyz" & "Giants" for example were huge!!! You would always here their significant whistle that they bited from "Colors" when you walked around in Berlin back in the early 90's.
