bonne nouvelle pour les afficionados, le prochain album de MC Eiht, "Affiliated", sera distribué par Koch. voici le communiqué complet reçu hier (désolé pas le temps de le traduire)...

MC Eiht Announces New Label Deal

(Compton, CA)---Veteran hiphop artist MC Eiht has just signed a distribution deal for his record label, West Music, Inc. in a joint venture with Paid In Full/Koch. The prominent, longtime rap icon, who played the role of A-Wax in the feature film, “Menace II Society,” and also performed the soundtrack’s hit single, “Streiht Up Menace,” will release a new album, “Affiliated,” this spring.

EIht, who also played the role of Ryder in the mega-hit video game, “Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas,” says this record deal differs from his past independent signings. “The promotion will be better, the distribution is better,” he confirms. “The label that I have the joint venture with this time is more professional than what was happening with my other independent projects. They don’t hesitate to get things done.”

The album’s first single will be the track “Say Nothing/Comptons Back.” In addition to the Compton rap legend, the song also features Comptons Most Wanted’s Chill and Bam, along with King T, who rides shotgun. The Compton-bred banger is already receiving airplay on Los Angeles radio station KDAY.

The Dub-I.N.C.’s upcoming “Affiliated” title is a natural for Eiht, who explains, “I named it that because there are a lot of misconceptions in the street as far as West Coast music, namely, what we do as far as West Coast music, how we get down with it, and what we represent. A lot of my fans have been anticipating a new record from a true West Coast artist. I get a lot of emails asking me questions like, “When are you going to come back and spit the real, because there is all this fake-ism in the game out there right now.” As Eiht points out, “You’ve got a lot of cats from everywhere out there, trying to do whatever, and a lot of it makes utterly no sense.” Eiht remarks, “This album title lets people know I’m still affiliated with the streets, with the neighborhoods, and what people are going through out there on the streets; it’s not being about glamour and glitz.” Eiht adds, “I saw something in the internet, where somebody commented on a quote made by a rapper, who said that he isn’t doing my type of music anymore, and that he was just going to go for the money, and that artist then went on to say, “So now I’m going to do the club shit, the booty shaking shit,” and right there, he lost a fan, because his fan could no longer respect him because of that.”

Eiht contends, “As everyone has seen, I just have to remain true and humble, and after all that, things will fall into place.” The upcoming album that has yet to be turned into the distributor, is already receiving a kilo of industry buzz, and is expected to become classic ghetto gold.

One of the most respected hiphop artists on the West Coast, Eiht articulates, “I am still making my music, just being affiliated with the streets. I’m still in Compton, representing truth.”

pas mal le comuniqué,

ca fait plaisir de savoir que son prochain solo sera bien distribué et qu'il continue a faire du son pour le quartier alors que d'autre choissent de sortir des disques pour les clubs comme il le dit lui même.

Ouais G-Ro "Sowhatusayin'" j'l'avais zappée celle-là, elle démonte en plus mais c'est vrai que c'est plus un "posse cut" (même si y a pas de posse en question) ...

da40ounces c'est clair si tu l'as la track que demande le peuple, ça ferait plaiz'

bon après deux écoute rapide de ce nouvel LP, ben pas décu du tout bien au contraire. c'est dans la lignée du veteran day, peut etre même mieux mais bon je verrai ca une fois la sensation de nouveauté digérée...

Les sons sont bien carré avec un parfum old skool à la CMW..pas du tout dans le délire new west et ca c'est bon...

Sympa de retrouver MC Eiht entouré de Chill, Boom Bam et DJ Mike T sur certains morceaux..

tout à fait d'accord avec da40ounces énorme album qui sonne plus old par rapport à ce qui se fait actuellement, des productions lourdes et laidback de Eith, Chill, Battlecat, DJ Slip que du bon, et pour moi meilleur que Veteran Day.

Je viens d'acheter son album à Eiht et il a déconné il n'y a pas les crédits pour les tracks

mais ce qui est sympa c'est que le disc contient un footage + la video de Say Nuthin'

. Mais pour ma part, le Season Veteran G pas du tt kiffé, il ma soulé directe. Alors kan jentend ke Affiliated est dans la ligné de Season Veteran ca mfai un peu peur...

Bin franchement, après écoute des extrait de l'album sur cdunivers, cest a dire 30 sec de chak morceau, bin il a lair tt a fai appréciable ce ptit skeude de notre ami Eiht... :wink:

Jdonnerai une ptite mention a "WHat The F**U Want Me 2 Do" ka lair pas mal du tt après 1er écoute :wink:

Après 2 ou 3 écoutes complete du skeude, jpeu maintenan confirmer mes 1er impressions. Un bon LP de Eiht ki ma pa mal supris, assez old school dans les prods. Mise a part kelke tracks sur leskel G eu tendance a mendormir, l'ensemble du CD passe bien. Jconfirme également ma ptite préférence pour "WHat The F**U Want Me 2 Do" :wink:

Très bonne sortie de Eiht sans probleme :wink:
