oh yeah...listen to the remix of Sublime's "Doin Time" with the Pharcyde on it, he finally shouts out Pasadena on there...

by Jon B. you mean Jon B. the singer who did the hook on WC's Better Day (for instance, i know that this is not his best-known performance) ? wow i'm quite astonished, actually I thought he was a eastcoast folk, therefore i think he was born on the east and he did a lotta collabos with eastcoastaz(as well as westcoast artists) so i'm surprised

anyway, he's probably the best-known artist from pasadena. thx for the listing like perico said, i didn't know either that Scipio was from there.

Jon B, the R&B cat, was actually born in Rhode Island, you're right Bouli, but he was raised in Pasadena... his Gold debut album, "Bonafide", is a straight classic!!!! damn i remember, i was 14 and trippin on "Simple Melody" like a motherfucker, ahahahah...

didn't know about Pharcyde... thx for the "gem dropping" XL, eheh

Edit: talking about Sublime (best ska/punk/rock/rap group EVER!! ahaha), they're from Long Beach... Brad Nowell R.I.P.

Is it the same Jon B who sang with Tupac on "R U Still Down" ?

yup, and he's also singing the hook of "Sunshine" by Kurupt, from his "Space Boogie" album...

what up XL, have you ever heard about the Project Blowed (4343 Leimert Park) ?

1. Sublime is the best damn punk band ever!!!!!!!

2. Jon also produced Kurupt's "Sunshine"...dude has beats and the industry doesn't even know it, he's only known as a singer, but as a producer he's a straight genius...i got a new record with Jon B. that's not gonna be on my next album, but it should be coming out later this year

3. Yeah I heard of Project Blowed, out here in LA the name carries much weight for the underground-super hip hopped out cats...Not really my style of music but they definitely have a strong following out here.
